Cursor Crane brings common mouse and trackpad actions back to your keyboard, so you can handle targeting, clicking, scrolling, and window switching with less context switching.
When you need to click a button, scroll an area, switch to another window, or place the cursor precisely somewhere on screen, you do not have to reach for the mouse first. You can stay in your keyboard flow and finish the action directly.
Instead of nudging the cursor toward a target before you can act, you can first trigger the action from Command Mode, then jump straight to elements, windows, or more targets before continuing.
What used to be “find, move, then act” becomes a much more direct keyboard flow. To further explore, check the Element Mode, Window Mode, and more related modes.
When the target is not an obvious button or link, you can still get there from the keyboard. Move fast across large areas first, then narrow the landing zone step by step, even across displays.

Every mode has its own job
Each mode is responsible for one kind of task. Think of them as different ways to grab what you need, so you can call on the right one without memorizing one huge workflow.
Command Mode
The default entry point for triggering actions and switching between modes.
Mouse Control Mode
Move the cursor anywhere on screen, click, scroll, and extend into gestures.
Element Mode
Jump directly to clickable targets and make the “find the target” step faster.
Element Menu Mode
Inspect a window or element, copy useful details, and continue into deeper actions.
Element Burst Mode
Extract text and trigger available actions from the element you already selected.
Find Mode
Use OCR to find visible text in the current window and jump directly to it.
Grid Mode
Break large areas into smaller target zones so you can balance speed and precision.
Adjust Mode
Resize and move windows, splitters, and sliders with keyboard-driven adjustments.
Window Mode
Jump between windows and menu bar items with less attention switching.
Scroll Mode
Lock onto the right scrollable region first, then keep scrolling from the keyboard.
Input Mode
Temporarily return to normal typing without breaking the overall workflow.
Choose the usage style that fits you
Command Mode can fit into different working habits. You do not have to decide on one “correct” way to use it from day one. Start with what feels most natural, then refine your layout, command sequences, and shortcuts over time.
- Best for longer sessions where you want the Claw Machine to remain part of your current workflow.
- Once activated, you stay in Command Mode and keep entering commands; common keys like Enter, arrow keys, and Tab, plus system or app shortcuts with modifiers, can usually still be used as normal.
- When you need to type text, switch to another mode or enter Input Mode.
- Best for quick one-off actions when you do not want to stay in the Claw Machine for long.
- Hold the activation shortcut to enter, then release it to exit, making the whole interaction feel like a short, direct keyboard grab.
- Great for quickly selecting a target, scrolling a section, or finishing one action and immediately returning to your usual flow.
- Best for turning repeated actions into muscle memory by assigning shortcuts only to the commands you use most.
- You can still think in commands; this just shortens the entry point into the workflow.
- Ideal for actions you already know you want to trigger instantly.

Will it conflict with my existing shortcuts?
Section titled “Will it conflict with my existing shortcuts?”That can happen, but in Command Mode, system or app shortcuts that include modifiers usually still work.
If you want to avoid affecting your existing habits as much as possible, consider the Hold temporarily or Shortcut first usage styles.
How do I uninstall it?
