Action Palette

Action Palette lets you find and perform actions without opening an app’s menu bar. By default, it searches the menu items of the frontmost app. You can also use it to find and run Cursor Crane scripts and workflows.

Open Action Palette

While Cursor Crane is active and in Command Mode, type /. This is the default command sequence for command.enterActionPalette.

You can change the command sequence or assign a dedicated keyboard shortcut in Settings.

Search Menu Items

Type part of a menu item title or its menu path. Each result shows the item title and its location in the menu bar. Menu items that are currently unavailable remain visible but cannot be performed.

Menu-item search supports flexible fuzzy matching. It ignores differences in letter case, character width, and diacritics, and recognizes compact initials for multiword titles. For example, ow can match Open Window.

For Chinese, Japanese, and Korean (CJK) text in menu titles and paths, Action Palette also indexes a Latin phonetic transliteration. This lets you search with Pinyin, rōmaji, or Korean romanization without switching to the corresponding input method.

Use any of these controls to choose and perform a result:

Input	Action
Up / Down	Move through the results.
Return	Perform the selected result.
Command + 1 through 0	Perform one of the first ten visible results.
Hold Control , then type a displayed hint	Perform the result with that hint.
Click a result	Perform that result.

After you perform a result, Action Palette remembers the query. When the first result is selected, press Up to recall previous queries that begin with the text currently in the search field.

Search Scripts and Workflows

Begin the query with / to search your valid scripts and workflows instead of menu items. Then type part of the script or workflow name, file name, or workflow description.

For example, typing /window searches scripts and workflows that match window.
